A Home for Hamish
A colourful, immersive and interactive adventure for young audiences aged 4-7 and their families. The show is British Sign Language Interpreted (BSL) but is a highly visual, physical performance show for anyone.
Playfully merging dance and British Sign language in a sensory world, A Home for Hamish follows the story of May and their imaginary friend, Hamish the Haggis as they travel across Scotland to find a perfect night’s sleep.
The two friends must support and rely on each other in order to find home, but it isn’t really about finding home, it is about the journey - when we work together we can escape dragons, dance with jellyfish & even climb the tallest mountains
Created by Just Us - Deaf Dance Artist, Clare Adam and Autistic Dance Artist, Lesley Howard - A Home for Hamish is a space where young people can see themselves, their sensory needs represented and respected.
